Parrish . . . The Thought: A Surreal Experience

"PARRISH . . . The Thought" had it's birth from two sources, one from a course requirement and the other from my Bride's birthday gift to me in early October. The course required a 2D animation with one or more weather changes in it whether it be rain, snow etc. My Bride, on the other hand, had surprised me with two books on Maxfield Parrish and his artwork.

As I pondered the assignment, while looking through my precious gift books, I came upon a painting called "It's Walls Were As of Jasper" from 1902. I thought of how enjoyable it would be to see this young child imagining shapes in the clouds as they passed by the castle. This idea launched me into a deeper investigation of his work and the possibility of a "dream-scape" animation incorporating a weather action. 40+ hours later "PARRISH . . . The Thought" was born. This FLASH presentation, set to Harry Nilsson's "Moonbeams", includes"It's Walls Were As of Jasper", as well as "Ecstasy," "Cinderella," "The Reluctant Dragon," "Wild Geese," "The Ring," and "Wynken, Blynken and Nod," and others. Enjoy. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC4ege0NzmQ)Other animations and video I generated are at https://www.youtube.com/user/HeavenlyOriginals.
